Content Manager

The Content Manager supports Enrollment Builders’ overall marketing, sales, and content efforts and is an integral part of the development and execution of marketing plans to reach targets for both clients and the company brand.This is a role for someone who loves to write, has a strong understanding of inbound/content marketing, and who is excited to produce at least three amazing articles every week.

The Content Manager will help define our brand story, in addition to developing consistency for our brand’s storytelling. They will also have an obsession with content performance, reporting, and analytics.

The right candidate will have the heart of a teacher, with a love of learning, writing and communicating in all forms. They will see the value of every person on our team and put them at ease, empowering them to tell their stories to our audience. They will be interested in working for a growing company where they can have a valued seat at the table and contribute their expertise at a high level to further EB’s success.

This position requires confidence, independent action, initiative, a sense of urgency, and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for them. A well-suited candidate can react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical ideas for dealing with them. 

Core Competency Requirements:

  • Passionate and excited about writing with impeccable writing and editorial skills, with an outstanding command of the English language. An understanding of common editorial style guides, e.g. AP Style, Chicago Manual of Style, etc. You will get to write a lot.
  • Project management skills to manage editorial schedules and deadlines within corporate and ongoing campaigns. 
  • Great at telling a story using words, images, or audio, and an understanding of how to create content that draws an audience.The ability to think like an educator, intuitively understanding what the audience needs to know and how they want to consume it.
  • The ability to work both autonomously and in collaborative settings while keeping tasks organized and meeting multiple deadlines consistently.
  • A deep desire to learn, grow, ask questions, and doggedly pursue clarity.
  • Clear articulation of the business goal behind the creation of campaigns and content.
  • Familiarity with principles of marketing.
  • Incredible people skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Training as a print or broadcast journalist (or equivalent).
  • Working knowledge of “They Ask, You Answer” by Marcus Sheridan.
  • Experience with HubSpot inbound marketing, email marketing, and other components. HubSpot Certifications and two years recent experience.
  • Experience with website management platforms (HubSpot, wordpress, enterprise web CMS platforms).
  • Experience working in a start-up or entrepreneurial environment. 
  • Ability to work remotely as a self-starter, and to travel for company and client meetings quarterly as public health considerations permit.
